Doucement
Posted from Dole, Franche-Comté, France.
I am getting closer to my homeland. The landscape looks already quite familiar, I see more and more german tourists and the weather gets worse.
It was raining during the night and the temperature has dropped considerably today to only 10ºC. The whole morning dark clouds were threatening but luckily they have disappeared now. And the wind was back. I was heading north-east, guess where the wind was coming from?
I have good bike clothing and did not feel cold on the bike, but I definitely prefer sunshine. The forecast for the coming days says that it will get better again.
At the dinner last night the old lady of the hotel told me several times that I should advance “doucement”. This is probably the most important french word that I have learned so far. I followed her advice today.
I am feeling good and relaxed and keep enjoying the good food and wine. Tonight I tasted the Chardonnay.
Todays route: 55,30 km
Well that’s great progress…it sort of gets embarrassing actually to see how little we do here …and then look over to see your progress…
Weather here is more like Summer everyday …a few more people /tourist knocking around and of course the road works are getting more intense so we are condemned with those long hot mornings sitting in the car on the way to work…so look what you are missing.
Take care on the bike and enjoy crossing into Germany …should be a great motivation.
