On the banks of the Rhone

Posted from Avignon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.

Today I reached the river Rhone in Avignon.

The day began with an unforeseen obstacle. The weather has changed again and just when I had moved off  it started to rain. I turned back to the hotel and had some more coffees in the lobby until it stopped. During the whole day the sky was very cloudy, but luckily it was only drizzling sometimes and I came dry to my final destination.

If I take care I can ride now without knee pain. Today I set me an ambitious objective and wanted to test if I could get to Avignon. This is the longest stage on my tour so far. I finally reached Avignon late in the afternoon and it feels really good that I can count with my body again.

Avignon looks nice and I will stay here tomorrow.

Today´s route: 115,22 km

Montpellier - Avignon

That looks like a nice bicycle lane, with tarmacadam. I hope the beer in France is not too dear!
